Fausto Bertinotti

The winner of this year's Class Traitor of the Year award, Bertinotti has led the largest socialist grouping in Italy into a coalition in government with Romani Prodi, the equivalent of Tony Blair, the leader of the social democrats. This year, senior 'socialist' party members voted with the government in sending troops to Afghanistan, thus capitulating to the whims of capital and big buisness and utterly destroying and confusing the anti-war movement, which has been reduced to 1000s of demonstrators instead of millions, as it once was.

The Alliance for Workers Liberty

The winner of this year's Sectarian Gits award, the AWL have furthered their political development by supporting the Pope when he made racist remarks, republishing racist cartoons (the only other organisation to do so was the BNP) and continuing to support the troops staying in Iraq, despite the realisation that no one, not even in America, wants them there. Like a little bit of Polonium 210, the AWL can do a lot of damage.

John Reid

Leading the outsiders charge to become the next prime minister, being groomed by the media, and ex-Stalinist Blairite hack, tough on asylum seekers (throwing them all into a pot of boiling oil) and man with no heart. Nothing more to say really.

Margaret Thatcher

Margaret Hodge

Winner of this year's Stupid Fucking Asshole award and also a former Politican who is Actually Evil award winner, Margaret Hodge is in the running to become this year's vermin of the year. Her crime, apart from being a former 'red' labour councillor now Blairite hack, is to give the BNP in Barking (her constituency) the biggest propaganda boost by describing them as a threat. The resulting media frenzy gave the BNP 13 councillors in Barking. This is after Hodge-led Blairite policies have completely gutted Barking, only 4 council homes have been built over the past year and the labour council is busy blaming asylum seekers for the problems of the borough. The Labour party then spent more resources and sent more activists to Tower Hamlets to fight off RESPECT, a left wing coalition. Hodge has managed, with the help of her Blairite friends in Westminster, to give the facists a leg up. It's up to committed anti-fascists now, not caviar anti-fascists like Hodge, to clean up the mess.

Freddy Flintoff

Who has mastered the art of getting his excessive weight behind a ball and aiming it. Oooooooh. Plus they lost the ashes.

Ricky Gervais

Is now a pompous hollywood cretin soaking up the glamour and lifestyle just because of The Office, which everyone is bored of now anyway. Spawned shitty American style version.

Peter Tatchell

Winner of this year's Islamophobic Ranting award, Tatchell has been consistent in his attempts to label Muslims as anti-gay. His group OutRage! isn't exactly the tribune of the oppressed either, earlier this year an OutRage! group member, Brett Lock, suggested that the leader of the Muslim Council of Britain wanted violence in response to racist attacks. Tatchell also spoke at the 'March for Free Expression' organised by various right wingers and supported by the BNP, none of which are friends of homosexuals! Tatchell claims... "contrary to the lies and scaremongering of the far left, there was no BNP presence at Saturday's rally." However, this seems to suggest otherwise.

Phil Woolas

Another government minister here for you, but not the last! Phil Woolas' main achievement this year was calling for a young Muslim woman who wore the face veil during lessons as a teaching assistant to be sacked. This came after she was suspended for wearing the veil in the wake of Jack Straw's racist remarks about Muslim women who wear the veil refusing to integrate.

And moving on swiftly to this vile piece of vomit, Jack Straw's comments weren't about his concern for the oppression of Muslim women or for Muslims not integrating into 'wider society', whatever that is. It was a cold, calculated tactic, devised to remove attention away from the 'War On Terror' and it gave confidence to hardline racists on the street to attack Muslim women and firebomb mosques.

For releasing the festering pile of unedited and overlong, incoherent and terrible rubbish that was 'V for Vendetta', they truely have grown fat on the spoils of Hollywood. Still, nice ending though.

The BNP

Disgusting, vile, foul fascists. Helped by the media and New Labour. Let off by the courts and the police. Hopefully only downhill for 2007, more of this please...

An attempt by the fascist British National Party (BNP) to hold a racist rally in Dagenham, east London, ended in humiliation for them on Saturday.

Despite extensive leafleting in the borough, the Nazis only managed to attract around 70 people to their rally – and they were surrounded by over 400 anti-fascist protesters chanting slogans and jeering at them.

The anti-Nazi counter demonstration, called by Unite Against Fascism, drew a large, vibrant and diverse crowd of local residents, trade unionists, students and anti-racist activists.

Bill Rammell

Not content with supporting the ban on hoodies and the veil at Imperial College in 2005, Rammell followed it up this year when a report was leaked from his department suggesting that Asians students should be spied on for evidence of terrorism, this report since became official government policy. This makes me so angry I could actually committ an act of terror on Rammell, it probably won't involve bombs, but knives, tweezers, hammers....... at least I won't be detected as I have white skin.

The Scottish Socialist Party

The runner up in this year Sectarian Gits award, a judgement deemed unfair by many activists, the SSP high council of elders supported the Murdoch press in witchhunting it's former member, Tommy Sheridan. They then burned an effigy of Tommy Sheridan at the SSP Youth Camp, organised on the same day as a demonstration against Israel's war in the Lebanon. Wow.

The NUS Bureaucracy

Leaving the worst till last, in my opinion, the NUS is riddled with worms, vermin and scabs, all competing against each other for a bite of the New Labour aristocracy. The NUS has been a breeding ground for Blairite party hacks and ministers. Just recently, the steering committee for the upcoming 2007 conference of the NUS, ruled out of order several motions on Islamophobia submitted by Student RESPECT, while allowing one on anti-semitism. The NUS is infested with Zionist hacks like Gemma Tumelty, the president of NUS. Earlier this year, the NUS managed to limp home in it's effort to organise a demonstration over top-up fees. The campaign has either largely been dropped or subverted to campaign only against the removal of the cap on top up fees.
