The scum we're up against

I don't have time to comment much on Nick Davies' excellent piece on Genoa, and the events of the 7 years that have followed, from today's Guardian; but will add a couple of points as to its relevance.

Firstly, a friend of mine raised the very important question a few weeks ago of who exactly it is that's carrying out the pogroms against the Roma community in Italy at present. I suggested that the police would be likely to have a hand in it - that whoever is responsible is both trained in beating people up and instilling terror into them, and also has the time available for it. This report should leave few people in any doubt as to the level of fascist infiltration within the carabinieri.

Secondly, the G8 is meeting in Italy again next year. And if anyone was in any doubt, here is a clear reminder that we need to mobilise in serious numbers for those demonstrations.
